Music is one of the few mediums that has the potential to be cross cultural in terms of its appeal. Yet, fans allow the various musical outlets to be flooded with garbage music saying well it just makes me happy that's why I listen. I am an in no position to judge why some people are drawn to music, but when an entire culture is created on the heels of achievements of the Black Panther Party and other politically conscious groups, I find fault when the music is diluted to "booty gorilla music".



I realize that Hip-Hop started as party music and it was fun, but like all great forms of music it evolved into various other forms who's purpose is one to better the community. People look to blame artists as selling out, but its the fans who are responsible, the men in suits are strangling music, just like they strangled the turn of the century labor creating The Depression, and more recently their arrogant leverage of your money creating a recession. I don't want to blame 'the man' but if fans don't show their distaste for the current state of music then there will be no more Hip-Hop and we will be a chapter in history of a country that wasn't made by men in suits but one that was destroyed by them.



Don't whine about it do something about it.
